The Philip and Gwen Brereton Memorial Fund
The Brereton Memorial Fund was founded in memory of Philip and Gwen Brereton who died in December 2000. Throughout their lives they gave up much of their free-time to work as volunteers for the Incorporated Association of Organists, the Royal College of Organists and the Oldham Rochdale and Tameside Organists’ Association.
Each year the fund offers bursaries to enable organ students to attend the IAO Music Festival, attend courses organised by the RCO or at Oundle, and/or to help fund organ lessons toward a specific goal e.g. working towards an exam. The fund also offers financial support to organisations such as choirs or other music-related charitable groups working to further organ education and choral music.
Application deadline
There are two application deadlines each year: 14th February for small grants to individuals (up to £300) and 14th March for larger grants to groups (between £500 and £5000).
The trustees regret that we cannot consider applications at other times of the year.
